Help Wanted: Social Media Specialist
Position Overview We're looking for a volunteer social media specialist to join the SoxProspects.com staff through at least December 2012. The primary responsibility of the position will be overseeing and overhauling our Facebook and YouTube pages, chipping in with Twitter, and providing input and recommendations on other social media platforms upon which we may want to expand. Secondarily, the position will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with potential online advertisers. This job will involve some commitment, mostly with expanding our regular presence on Facebook. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring digital media expert to gain some experience and exposure in the sports industry.
Although this is a volunteer position, we evaluate applications based on their professionalism, attention to detail, and merits as if this were a paid job, so please approach your initial email application accordingly. Familiarity with the site is a plus, but level of fandom of the Red Sox will not really be a consideration.
Basic Requirements
- Looking for a one-year commitment from January through at least December 2012
- Strong familiarity with Facebook and other social media platforms
- Ability to speak on behalf of the Site in a professional, accurate, and exciting manner
- Intricate knowledge of the Red Sox system
- Attention to detail
- Availability to monitor our social media as much as possible
- Age 18+
Compensation
This is an unpaid opportunity, as are all the positions on the SoxProspects Staff. However, there are a few nice perks, including access to insider information, invitations to staff events (including occasional games), and networking opportunities.
If interested, please email mike@soxprospects.com by 2:00 PM ET on January 25, 2012. Please provide a list of relevant skills and experience with respect to the position. A resume is not required, but can't hurt either. We look forward to hearing from you! We hope to make some decisions in early February.
Process
Our sincere apologies in advance, but we may not have the time to individually to respond to every applicant, particularly in the first round. In our latest hiring rounds, we've received upwards of fifty applications per position, and often multiple jobs are posted at one time. For most job openings, there will be a second and often a third round. We will notify everyone who makes the second round by a certain date and post that date in this thread. If you do not receive an email from us by that date, it unfortunately means that we have opted to go in a different direction on this specific job. In the second and third rounds, we will individuality notify every applicant either way.
Thanks!
-Mike
