I guess I can see he may stay back in Fort Myers for some extra catching tutelage. Wouldn't be surprised if his bat is ready for full season. Really excited about this kid and hope they leave him at catcher. With the offensive potential this kid has, we may have a real stud on our hands, but he is much more valuable if he can stay behind the plate. Veteran Member Posts: 572 01/10/12 8:19 AM	Attended quite a few Instructional Games, and they held him back from catching in real games. What was the reason? I had mentioned at the time he always hustled out to warm-up the pitcher while the regular catcher was putting on the "tools of ignorance". Since I'm now living full time in Florida (Sarasota area) I will miss seeing him debut at Greenville (if that is where he heads). This is probably the only reason I will miss being in Carolina.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was there, but caught between half and a third of the games a la Lavarnway, who it's been said gets more work in behind the plate when he's not catching games as when he does.

Posts: 485 01/10/12 12:32 PM Jim Crowell Staff Writer SoxProspects.com	He's new to catching and switch-hitting so I'm not sure if he will be advanced enough for Greenville, but if the assignment was based on talent alone, he would be there. In his senior season he alternated hitting lefty/righty each at-bat regardless of the handedness of the pitcher, and he still hit over .500 and slugged almost 1.000. Highest upside position player we have drafted since Westmoreland.
