I have really liked Sweeney ever since he broke into the big leagues. No reason why, really just like big athletic left handed outfielders. Veteran Member Posts: 815 12/28/11 6:02 PM	I could live with Workman going the other way. Wasnt it rumored Bean liked him? I think Bailey, Melancon and a healthy Jenks could be a good start to the pen. Hopefully someone steps up or we can get Thorton for cheap. Edit Nevermind on Workman.

Veteran Member Posts: 2457 12/28/11 6:08 PM	OK, I can deal with that, as much as I think Reddick will be a 20HR a year guy going forward and Sweeney is a no-power LH outfield bat with moderate OBP and who has yet to hit 20 HRs in his entire career. I hope we flip him to someone else. Soon.

The last thing this team needed was another LH hitting OF, particularly such a light hitting one such as Sweeney. Not a big fan of Bailey, but perhaps he could hold the spot for year or so until Melancon develops into the closer. Poorest spending of $3 million that I have ever seen.-fcastig 0220
