the mlb comps aren't meant to show you a players talent level as much as they are to give you an idea of how they play I guess. For example Casey Kelly was compared to Kevin Brown as his mound presence and pitching repertoire was the closest to him but I think very very few people if any expect him to be and put up Kevin Brown type numbers. I think misinterpreting those comps is what leads us to unfair expectations of our own prospects.

Personally what I'd like to see to go along with the mlb comp is a rough guess of what they might do at the mlb level. Something like a fake slash line of a 270-280 BA etc. etc. etc...
