What's the reason Ranaudo didn't start? As it was Kyle Stroup was outstanding 6Ks in 5 scoreless innings.

edit: thought Ranaudo was slated for Greenville opening day. Hope he follows up on Stroup's outstanding start.

Expect Pimentel to struggle early in the season and be inconsistent. It also wouldn't surprise me if Drake Britton experiences some struggles out of the gate as well.

Hassan has a disappointing start to the day, too. He has only gone 1-2 thus far, dropping his average to .600.

WMB making my day a little better with a 2R HR following back-to-back doubles by Federowicz and Tejeda. Portland pulls to within 3. 6-3 Reading in the 5th.

ADD: WMB now 3-3, with 3 RBI's and just a triple short of the cycle.

ADD 2: Lavarnway now 0-12 with 3K's to start the year.

WMB now 4-4, whacked a high 88 FB down the 3rd base line for another double. Unfortunately, it's like the Yankees game, they more we score, the more they score. The pitchers are getting hammered there.

Anybody else having problems with Pawtucket radio?

When I click on the link at the MiLB audio page, I only get a blank page with no audio. "reflector". Hope it's not an overseas thing, I never could get Lancaster games because they were blocked internationally. Can't be sending baseball data to terrorists, I guess.

The radio broadcast is working ok for me, turned it on just in time to hear Tony Thomas hit a grand slam and make it 4-1 PawSox.

Thanks. Still nothing here. If you would, I'd appreciate the call letters of the station if they say them, maybe they have a .com link.

Edit: Nevermind about the call letters, found the affiliated stations list. None allow for live online listening during the
games. Hopefully something that will go away with time. I noticed last year at season start, a lot of the links had problems of one sort or another but got smoothed out pretty fast. As below, I'm excited for this year's PawSox but, I usually follow AA and A+ for things I'm looking for. By the time they make Pawtucket I've got the general idea already.

Lars is 2-2 so far; the first hit a rope down the right field line for a 2B. Navarro has a mohawk apparently while Iglesias has a fauxhawk.

Add: And Reddick's HR was a good 25-30 feet over the wall in right center.

This is the first year I can remember where I'm more excited for Pawtucket boxscores than any other team in the system.

Hell of a start for Middlebrooks, though. If he can hit like this for the remainder of the season, he'll be the best prospect in baseball.

Why would we ever PH for Varitek? I mean, what if we PH for him, and it goes to extras, and vic martinez gets eaten by dinosaurs? We'd have to use the emergency catcher.

Just got back from the Sea Dogs game. The line doesn't give justice to Middlebrook's day. Nice strike zone judgement in all 4 ABs and every hit was smoked. The home run went over one of the signs in right center (about where the Coke bottle is in Fenway).
