Rookie Posts: 51 12/15/10 4:41 PM	Tags : None Hey guys, I am newbie when it comes to the Fan Graphs website and was wondering if someone could help explain something? When looking at Carl Crawford's plate discipline numbers I was wondering what SwStr% stands for (The term wasn't listed on the site's glossary) and how it relates to the other numbers listed in this stat category? Veteran Member Posts: 544 12/15/10 5:04 PM	I never knew why they didn't put that in the quick glossery. Its the percentage of swinging strikes (its the same for pitchers). You can check this by taking the percentage a batter swings, and multiple it by 1 minus the contact percentage - mostly everything else is a swinging strike. Swing%*(1-Contact%) =~ SwSt%.
