Sounds like Westy won't lose a lot of development time, according to PROJO's Joe MacDonald:
"Ryan Westmoreland had successful surgery last Tuesday to repair a broken collarbone. ... He had a plate and screws inserted during the procedure performed by Red Sox team physician Thomas Gill at Massachusetts General Hospital. ...The Portsmouth native will be out of commission for six weeks and will begin his rehab in October at the organization's Player Development Complex in Fort Myers, Fla. According to Red Sox director of player development, Mike Hazen, Westmoreland should be ready to hit in January."
Must be a bit discouraging, especially to a kid this young with this much potential, to be dealing with rehab two years in a row.
