I've long been keeping historical records of the rankings on this site ... for no good reason other than to satisfy my OCD tendencies. Might as well
share.
The short version: there wasn't much movement in the top 60 this week!
Lars Anderson dropped to 4th. That's down 3 spots since July 4th. Some of that is because others have played well (e.g. Kelly (the pitcher)), but his grade in that time has also gone down a bit from 8-10 to 7-9.
Tazawa moved from 5th up to 3rd which is the highest ranking he's had so far.
Michael Bowden, who was number 1 early last August, dropped one spot to 5th (because Tazawa moved up). His grade on 8/9/8 was 8-9 and it's now 7-9.
Fabian Williamson reached a new high mark at 30. Williamson joined the organization last January from the Mariners in return for Dave Aardsma. He first appeared in the top 60 in March at # 56. He's slowly, though not always steadily, risen now to the mid point.
Manny Rivera moved back up a notch to 35th tying his high water mark from two weeks ago.
Vinicio (has he reported yet?) actually moved up two spots to 36th, a new high.
Brandon Jacobs is new to the top 60 at 37th.
Hunter Jones did not please the SP gods this week. He fell from 28th to 38th. In June '08 Hunter was at #14.
Kris Johnson dropped 3 spots to 42nd. Kris was ranked 7th in May of '07 and last saw the top 10 in July '08.
Mitch Denning is back on the list for the third time. Mitch was signed as an IFA in September of '05 and hit the top 60 for the first time, barely, in July '07 at 59th. His "reign" was brief though, the following week he was gone. In July '08 he showed up agan at 60th and rose to 32nd by the end of the year. He fell off the bottom again in June but he's back now at 54. If you're near Greenville, buy Mitch a drink on Monday when he turns 21.
Dropping off the list this week were Bryan Peterson, from 53rd, and Dennis Neumann (who you may remember watching dazzle MLB batters in the World Cup), from 56th.
