Can somebody please explain twitter to me. I don't get the craze; maybe I'm not "hip", but it seems like a lazy man's blog. No offense
meant by that, it's just a reference to the fact that it generally consists of 1-2 liners.
I am speechless. ...this site is not intended to be a place where you post every ridiculous and half-formed thought that comes into your head.

Call it a lazy man's near real-time blog, and we can agree.
aminahyaquin: Alou is a 37 year old 7 time MVP with a .347 lifetime batting average and a world of hustle. he
can golden glove field in his sleep.
tGG: Alou is actually 42, has never won an MVP, has a .303 lifetime batting average, and is mediocre at best in the field. joshv02: But, other than that, you're wrong. |

And you can recieve updates on your phone, so instead of a (we)b-log, it's more like a (tex)t-log.
I'll let you know how the updates work as texts. Could we put this in the suggestions or meta forum at some point so we don't have to look real deep in a week and a half to find it? As for last night. I got a score text with info about jon hee as the salem hero. Still had to go into the boxscorez for more info, and for scores of other games.

I hate texting with a passion soxsail (so that's a lost argument). Nothing annoys me more than when someone will text you, but won't answer their
phone.

Salem broadcaster Evan Lepler is also startign a twitter feed. Should include stuff like posting lineups a few hours beforehand, coming up with special stats
or short stories from the park. Check it out.

Very good stuff. Two suggestions:
1. When telling people in twitter to check out another account, use @accuntname. It makes it easier for third-party apps that follow twitter (like tweetdeck, tweetberry, etc.). Using a hyperlink just puts the user into twitter on a website, and on apps that kind of sucks. 2. When possible, do a link to the game day thread (using is.gd or whatever) when giving game recaps. Makes it easy to navigate to both and increases your traffic a little. The power of twitter is pretty straight forward. Its about power numbers. You write something, someone else either responds or "re-tweets" it, and now another 50+ people have the chance to read it as its broadcast into them. One more people re-tweets it and the function is repeated. Doesn't take a lot for it to work well. |

Just to update how I feel about the texts, for me, the scores and updates about the site are the best. I don't love the more personal "were recording
now type narratives.

I'd like to know what SoxProspects thinks about the lines at the grocery store next time they're there. Or perhaps how good your french toast was at
IHOP?
I'm hearing
Hudson wants to become a hitter - his exact quote:
"Baby-Hühner graben die lange
Kugel"

I've enjoyed the tweets the last couple days. The "breaking news" ones even more than the game reports, but the reports are good too as long as
something interesting happened in the game, not neccessary if Pawtucket lost 8-1 and three org guys got 1-2 hits. Thanks for everything, keep it coming.
