It was a nice run for Kottaras and I think they'll get something for him. I don't think he'll clear waivers.
if the trade deadline is over they cannot trade him for something unless he clears waivers .... so whatziedoodle ... I don't think Kottaras is going anywhere. Just my hunch. |

DFA, I think the assumption is that they'll put Kottaras on waivers, someone will claim him, and then the Sox will work out some kind of deal with the
claiming team, probably getting a lower level prospect of some kind.

Fogey, you may be right, but they sure coulda traded him on FRI if that was their intention. with the day off on MON, they will go with 11 pitchers for a few
games. And then see what comes up. Kotchman .... I'd send him down to Providence for a 10-day stint 8/6 to 8/16.
But I'm probably wrong again. |
