Is Hagadone going to be pitching abbreviated starts for the rest of the season or are the Sox going to increase his workload as he recovers? Also, is there any chance he gets promoted this year?

Maybe I'm all wet, but to me it real important for Bowden to have a good outing today. I could see where he helps the front office feel more comfortable with their pitching depth, allow them to move Penny, and bring up Clay.

Ryne Lawson needs to be put on the DL (either phantom or real) to sort out this horrible season of his.

"Hot Rods announcer just reported that the mascot, a mackerel, just ate the batboy and that now the batboy's clothes are flying out the fishes mouth. Shouldn't that be investigated ?" LCBF

Pawsox announcers said a few minutes ago that Bowden's been throwing almost entirely fastball and slider today.

edit: Am I remembering wrong or was someone from the site going to all the Pawsox games this weekend?

Through five Bowden's BB/K ratio is 4/5 and his Pitch/Strike ratio is 73/45. Looks like slider command issues as the biggest problem, Hopefully an eyewitness will know.

5 is all he got, no hits.

If the announcer was right and if he continued to do that, I'd guess Bowden isn't happy with the slider yet and hasn't begun integrating it into a package.

That's what I was hoping to find out. Realistically though, I was probably thinking of someone going to all the Portland games or something. There really wouldn't be much point in going to all 3 Pawtuckett games this weekend.

Bowden's done after 5 though. They intended to limit him to 75-80 coming into today seeing as he hasn't pitched in like 13 days, so they aren't going to send him back out to start the sixth. He finished the day with 5 no-hit innings pitched. Also of note, all 4 of Bowden's walks came after a 3-2 count.

From the recap:

•With Ryan Khoury batting, Jason Place caught stealing home, catcher Jesus Montero to shortstop Eduardo Nunez to catcher Jesus Montero.

Weird, if it was a pick off that Place broke towards home, hence the attempt, you'd think the throw would be to the 3Bman.

Must have been a double steal where the ball was cut off by the SS and Reddick returned to 1st.

Double steal attempt. Throw down to second in attempt to get Reddick, then throw home when Place breaks.

Any news of an injury? It seems odd he'd come out after 1 inning.

No hit bid over. With 2 outs in the 9th, cabrera gives up a single into centerfield. And then quickly gives up a homerun to end the shutout.

Tyler Wilson's GCL Red Sox debut after a year with his heart issues. 1 inning, 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 HBP no runs. Manny Rivera goes 5, 1 run, but loses as the GCL Sox scratch out two hits. Sox lose 3-0
