Westmoreland 2-2 so far. Both hits were opposite field singles, one a solid line drive and the other "soft". He's also got an SB and scored a run.

I think that he's gonna be/ is good.

When I saw him the other day on TV he hit the ball very hard, stole a base, and showed a solid swing. Impressed me, but I'd like to see more of him before I judge him.

Just got back from the Spinners' game. While I missed 6th through 8 th innings due to a trip to Swampland, here are my observations:

Westmoreland-continues impress with his ability to work counts and hit his pitches. He didn't give an inch to the first lefthander, with two hits to leftfield, one a line drive and the other a softer hit. He also hit a grounder to the first baseman and almost beat it out. Stole a base with ease.

Gibson-has excellent range,but he is not going to stick at shortstop with his arm as he has trouble making throws from the hole, with very little on them. On the bright side, it is clear that other teams know that he has wheels as his speed helped to rush the shortstop into a throwing error and he stole two bases easily.

Holmes- had a nice line single to drive in the Spinners' second run, but he is not a good fielder with many balls hit over his head where he took terrible angles on a number of them.

Poorest spending of $3 million that I have ever seen.-fcastig 0220

Good to hear that he was more comfortable against a lefthander, since he didn't look that way a few nights ago.

PawSox: There's hope, PawSox tied in extras 7-7.
SeaDogs: down 5-4 7th
I was beginning to have hope but Diaz with his 2nd error in as many games, both fielding, hopes dashed.
Plummer with another great bottom line. 5IP 0ER, not so hot peripherals though.

SalSox: our best team won 4-2
Another night with no SB attempts against Salem. (Games that Weiland doesn't pitch). FexEx with a SB of his own but the nose dive continues, 0-4 and he's down to .246 after a fast start.
Garrison's still turned on. 6IP 1 ER, Cappelan closed.

Drive also tied 7-7 but only the 8th.
Lavarnway must be ill today. He's 3-5 but two of the hits were singles.
No good news for Clay or Ventura

Lowell hammered 7-2:
Westmoreland had a second SB and Bermudez, Wilkerson & Gibson with one each. Speed kills but only maimed today. Pity the poor opposing catchers, they must get pregame heaves.
ADD: Gibson with his 9th error already.
