The Mariners signed second overall pick Dustin Ackley, according to MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo.

I know that Strasburg recieved unprecedented money, but Ackley's 9.5 million seems very high too, are these the two highest signings ever and both in the
same draft? I like Ackley but I find it a little hard to believe he will become a player worthy of one of the highest amateur bonuses of all time. Am I missing
something with the player or the dollars? Doesn't make sense to me.

Ackley got an MLB deal - $9.5M may be the value of the entire deal, not just the bonus.

Was hoping for Bard and Patterson....but this is still a great haul of some great talent, esp. when combined with the international signings this
summer....future is looking bright.
