How is this kid doing in defensive counts? 0-2, 1-2, 2-2? What is his ratio for called strikes versus swinging? What pitches are particularily difficult for him - especially location. How has he improved or stepped back on that? Organizations track this stuff. Any info?
Here is a updated breakdown of Lars' season.
4/1-5/2 - 19G, 23/79, 37TB, 15/7 K/BB, SF, ........291/.345/.468/.813
5/3-5/11 - 6G, 2/31, 3TB, 10/3 K/BB,...................065/.147/.097/.244 (stretch that Lars played while hurt)
5/12-7/8 - 49G, 48/171, 73TB, 46/30 K/BB, HBP.281/.391/.427/.818
Total - 74G, 73/281, 113TB, 71/40 K/BB, HBP, SF, .260/.353/.402/.755
If you exclude this six game stretch only, Lars' stats would be an 815ish OPS.
One trend to keep an eye on is the lack of XBH. His slugging percentage has dropped off significantly lately. Not a huge concern but something to look for.
One thing for sure if he moves up the line he'll be a poster boy. Sell a lot of jersey's with his looks.
I've only seen him a few times on TV and seems like he may be something in a few years.
