Looks like we might be able to finally call ASAL a pinko-commie!

Just over a week until some real games start, I've been watching MLS friendlies and then feeling dirty afterward.

I'm wondering if we are best off starting a new futbol thread for the new season, but anyway, with the Premier League starting up tomorrow how about some predictions?

Top 6 spots:
1) Chelsea ( I think they get Neymar and maybe a solid CB to share duties with Alex, which should seal the trophy for them)
2) Arsenal (Pending Arsene getting a real goalie and Barca not kidnapping Cesc of course)
3) Man U (I think age catches up to them big time and Fergie is going to be relying on their youth a bit too much.  Their offense should be really good but I dont like their defensive setup at all.  Also, its mental that they haven't signed Ozil but they just blew 10 mil euros on a fucking homeless Portuguee... I can be homeless for awhile for that much coin, even for the dreaded Red Scouse)
4) Man City (Money does buy happiness... and champions league spots)
5) Liverpool (I think it will be a distant 5th though.  Cole is a nice signing if healthy but we all know what that means with Cole)
6) Tottenham (They've obviously fallen behind Man City and I think Liverpool should be a shade better)

I was tempted to say Drogba but at some point in time he has to go down to a serious enough injury with his age and the beating he takes every week.  Then again Chelsea's attack is going to be vicious so he probably is the smart choice once again.

That's true of course, but you never know with Chelsea and their money, they really need to bring in another striker who can begin to take the load off of Drogba and a young guy is perfect for that role as he acclimates to the Premier League.  I was a bit surprised they didn't continue their pursuit of Aguero and signed Anelka so quickly who I just dont think is worth it. 

Also, Wegner, get Shay Given to Arsenal right fucking now.  Almunia should be force fed lead weights and dropped in the channel.

OK game between Liverpool and Arsenal, pool looked great in defending with 10 men (should have been a yellow against Cole, his studs were down and he really didn't get much of the player) against a possession heavy attack by closing down space very quickly, it was a shame that Reina gave up that one.  Arshavin continues to piss me the fuck off by being a black hole at times and Arsene not subbing him, same goes for Nasri continuously taking free kicks and corners when he couldn't deliver a quality ball if his life depended on it.  Arsenal's entire attack was basically pass the ball awhile and toss it in the middle and hope for the best, that wouldn't even be a good strategy against pool even if they still had Adebayor, nevermind the midget brigade they fielded today, they lacked a ton of imagination without Cesc.

Scholes is the guy you would love if he was on your team. 

Could be a big transfer day with the champs league starting up and teams wanting to get their guys before they play any champs league games to make them ineligible for their new teams.  Ozil probably going to Real, because they so desperately need a creative CAM, meanwhile Ozil must have run over Fergie's dog or something because I can't think of a better fit between two parties except for Arsenal and a goalie with a pulse.  Bellamy goes to Cardiff City because the appeal of a 2nd division club and going back to Wales (must get homesick a lot and that 3 and a half hour drive must be torture) was much too strong for him.  This sucks as I was looking forward to him and Tevez pulling an Artest-Stephen Jackson level melee on somebody.

Some big games in Germany as Bayern take on Wolfsburg and Hamburg go against Schalke.
