I wouldn't mind seeing him going to an organization where he has a better shot to stick in the majors. Last year, he pitched 61.1 innings in Pawtucket and put up a 2.64 ERA and 2.55 FIP, plus another 30.1 innings in Boston for a 3.26 ERA and a 2.70 FIP. Yet he was optioned/recalled six different times and is now getting DFA'd.... If he accepts the minor league assignment from Boston, I'm guessing he goes to Pawtucket out of spring training, gets called up after a couple months of dominating in Pawtucket, and then gets DFA'd again as soon as they need to make a roster move.

Not questioning the wisdom of the transaction, just rooting for the guy to get a better job opportunity.
