Veteran Member Posts: 1676 01/21/12 5:53 PM	I have to believe they get more than Mortenson for Scutaro. Mortenson sucks, and hasn't pitched well at any level since the low minors. Even if this is a pure salary dump, Scoot has been a 2.5+ WAR player the last 4 seasons, his 4 career best.

Veteran Member Posts: 204 01/21/12 6:07 PM	I just posted on another thread that I am against trading Scutaro simply as a salary dump because I think the Sox have him at good value. However, if they get good value for him in return, then I'd be okay with it. The only way it makes sense in my point of view is if they end up with a legitimate SP or a solid prospect. Also, I would have to believe that some deal for Oswalt or Floyd will be happening soon. If not, then Mortenson better be good. Anyone know anything about him? Posts: 1475 01/21/12 6:14 PM Forum Moderator	If the return is just Mortenson, the Sox got fleeced. He's a sinkerballer with no real success in the upper minors or majors. Mediocre strikeout and walk rates. No better than a back-end starter.

Lakcey (no) Jenks (no) dice-k (no) CC (no so far). the last two off seasons we broke the bank, and still didn't make the playoffs
