If you are looking for a good baseball book to read go to amazon and order this book. It was written by Dirk Hayhurst about his life and minor league baseball. He says up front that the story isn't complete nonfiction as he has combined some of the characters he has met and changed a lot of the names to protect privacy. Anyway, the majority of the story follows him in 2007 from spring training as a 26 year old nonprospect, through his assignment to high A (Lake Elsinore) and eventual promotion to AA (San Antonio) where they play for the AA championship. I usually don't laugh out loud while reading books but there were a few moments where I couldn't resist. It is really funny, but also has a lot of serious topics in it about life.
The book is really well written and easy to read. I highly recommend it.
