Could be worth a look, but unproven at the MLB level which does them no good at this point as far as 4th OF/RF RHH.

It's obvious the Sox aren't going to spend much for a RH bat. I'd like to see them get Jones at this point. Ross could still be an option, but if the Sox are looking to not spend, then they're looking at a proven mediocrity in Darnell McDonald or hoping to catch lightning in a bottle with a guy like Jai Miller.Other than that, there's nobody that would be the RH OF bat in the minors at the moment although Alex Hassan could move up at some point I suppose.Actually I shouldn't say nobody - is Linares healthy at this point? I guess he's an option if he's healthy.

The Red Sox have acquired Andrew Bailey from the Athletics in a deal that will send Josh Reddick to Oakland, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney (Twitter links). The move provides the Red Sox with a closer and gives the Athletics some much-needed outfield depth.
Bailey posted a 3.24 ERA with 8.9 K/9, 2.6 BB/9 and a 37.1% ground ball rate in 41 2/3 innings in 2011 after recovering a forearm strain that sidelined him early on in the season. MLBTR projects a $3.5MM salary for the 27-year-old right-hander in 2012.
