On couple of notes

1) Boston isn't getting Sandoval for Youkilis. It doesn't make sense for all the reasons I described earlier, furthermore they're secure at 1b with Belt. While Sandoval's approach at the plate is an issue, he's a very good cost controlled player. He's got a bad body and like won't age well (fangraphs had a great blog about aging curves for "bad body" players a month ago, I recommend it) but that's irrelevent for the time being because Sandoval is young enough that the odds are against a complete collapse of his skill set. 

2) Curl's "I believe Youkilis to be out of baseball in 3 years" is baseless and entirely arbitrary. The guy has averaged a fWAR of 4.6 over the past 3 seasons, one of which being miscast as a everyday 3b (his defense is acceptable, but I question his ability to remain healthy there for long, he could possibly benefit from regular reps at DH).

He could very well be out of baseball in 3 years, and while his recent history of injuries could indicate some cause for concern, the guy can still hit. At 36 his career will almost certainly be trending down, but he'll likely still stick somewhere as a DH/1B.
