From reading some stuff on MLBtraderumors......Aparently, the Cubs and Rays have interest in Rizzo. Cubs are aparently discussing a package with San Diego that would include Garza for Rizzo. Not necessarly something thats close to being done. But interesting.

In other news, the Red Sox have already called the Padres about the possibility of acquiring Garza at the trade deadline.

It doesn't seem to really fit for San Diego. So there would probably have to be other players involved or a third team. Could just be chatter anyway.

Its not like they really have to trade Rizzo right now anyway. Stashing him in Triple A wouldn't hurt and could increase his value if he does what he did last year.

Honestly, I think the Rays are a better fit. Since they like cost controlled players and have the trading chips to pull this off. The big question would be if they are willing to part with what it takes to get Rizzo. Since they aren't exactly agressive when it comes to trading prospects ( of course in this case they'd be getting a good prospect in return). I'd say Wade Davis or Jeff Niemman would be a good fit, but would that be enough for San Diego? A three way deal with Shields would probably work if they found a third team, but I don't see the Rays trading Shields right now.
