He already is a legend there, but now I think the fans won't revere him nearly as much as if he played his whole career there. I hope he he really enjoys that extra money. And yes I know it sounds like there was a significant difference between the Angels and Cards numbers, but still. A sad day.

Add in $26M for Pujols, $15.5M for Wilson, $17.1M for arbitration eligibles, and $4M to fill out the rest of the 25-man, and you have a total payroll of approximately $166M. Which is a big bump up, but not approaching the luxury tax yet. And they have Hunter and Abreu coming off the books after 2012

The dude did what every single one of us would have done in his situation and will build his own reputation and history in LA. He moves to a nicer, bigger city and got an extra $50 mil to do so. He also turned down an extra $25 mil from the Marlins, so it wasn't just about the money.Climb down off your high horse, it's ridiculous.
If anyone needs to climb off their high horse, look in the mirror. As a paying fan if I choose to go to the games and boo the hell out of him, it is my damn right to do so, not what you think everyone else should think/do.
