Bullpen by committee is very risky an 9 out of 10 times it doesnt work. The Braves had some success with the bullpen commitee a phew years ago with Soriano against right handers an Gonzalez against lefties. I am more for getting some one to compete with Bard an give us some insurance. I would love to go trade for Jair Jurrjens an Jonny Venters. Venters could compete if not beat Bard for the closers job.

I love Heath Bell he is a good person an good closer but his fastball has lost speed, hes getting older an older an lots of his success is based off of Petco park his Flyball rate has gone up every year over the last phew years. Ya Ill take a shot at Bell on a one year 8 mill deal anything more I pass an thats risky still because he is coming to Fenway a small ball park, the AL and the AL east.

Madsen on a 3 Yr 30 mill deal I would do. mybe. But I dont want to give up my first rd pick for him. The Phills lose there first for Paps, but they get a better CL an when Madsen signs they get 2 first for losing him so this makes tons of sense for them. Get a better CL an 2 first rd picks or keep your CL who is good an get no picks. Ill take option one, better closer more picks. If Madsen gets signed they will be up 1 draft pick.
