The idea of a switch hitting OF that can run sitting in the 7 spot with those numbers is intriging. Granted, there are questions marks, but a lot of positives. I would certainly trade a Jed Lowrie for him, which would seem to fit with the Royals as they will want a ML ready guy. I would think Lowrie with a B prospect could get it done as they know he won't be back after next year.

He did have a very good year, but he was a replacement level player his entire career before this season. He was terrible as recently as 2010 and has an extended history of consistently sucking. I just don't buy that this season is his true talent level. There are better options that can be had without giving up actual talent.

Doesn't say he's going to get it. I say we can get him for a tad less. 3/39. Keeps his salary about what it was last year.

B.J. Ryan - $47M/5Joe Nathan - $47M/4Francisco Cordero - $46M/4Mariano Rivera - $45M/3Billy Wagner - $43M/4Brad Lidge - $37.5M/3Francisco Rodriguez - $37M/3Rafael Soriano - $35M/3If the Yankees won't be bidding for his services, $45M/3 is probably a pipe dream. But I still think someone will be willing to give him close to $40M. Hope it's not the Red Sox.
Bush also yelled "I'm Matt (expletive) Bush," and "(expletive) East County," before driving over a curb in his Mercedes when leaving the campus, according to the witness.

I don't know if Papelbon goes anywhere. In certain ways, he fits the team well. And, as we all know, there aren't many alternatives that are "better". That being said, unless Papelbon develops better secondary pitches, his shelf life is limited.

I'm all for seeing our prospects getting a chance. I also feel that starting young guys like Kalish or Reddick helps with team chemistry as opposed to bringing in free agents every year. If the Sox sign an OF'er this offseason I sure hope it's a RH platoon type of player.

He has a Bill Hall-esque profile on offense, with better defense-- lot of strikeouts, doesn't walks, above-average power, and position versatility (plays 2B decently, could maybe be taught 3B or 1B).
