The cryptic way Francona explained things leads the public to "jump to conclusions about " the state of affairs. Now the leaking game begins. I look for McAdam to get some inside stuff soon that will name names. Gordo too will get something (maybe from Larry). I think the heat is going to get turned up on Beckett and to a lesser degree on Lester, Youkilis, Gonzalez.

That thrived with the media and made him tremendous dealing with many of the bumps that came up and was able to weather the storm until this last collapse. But from watching his press conference I think he was just worn out and probably wasn't the greatest idea for him to come back or for the organization to bring him back. It just seemed like it was time to part ways and he had had enough.A little similar to when Torre left the Yankees, although his tenure was longer than Tito's. Like Guidas said, hopefully we go younger and a guy that is going to command the respect and kick that clubhouse's ass in gear next year.Today sucks but looking at everyone from both pressers it seemed necessary. However like Mellen said, the next manager has pretty big shoes to fill.
