He makes too much sense not to look at, the Red Sox are built to win in the coming three years. Now is a time to unload prospects. Agreed with TNS in terms of Hanley not being moved. They would be selling slightly low on him, although they wouldn't get fleeced certainly as they know the value of him, and just doesn't make sense with the ballpark situation. In terms of the Red Sox being built to win in the coming three years, I disagree with that form a standpoint of a team like the Red Sox not having a window of opportunity. The franchise is just in such good hands I don't see Theo and company going all out for a three year window and then leaving a rebuilding project. That isn't saying they wouldn't trade for Hanley or Hernandez but they aren't just going to sell the farm to try and win as many as they can the next three years.

I can't imagine anyone taking him now, even for free. He still would take up a roster spot. I'd like to see Drew DFA'd and Lavarnway brought up and given a few starts at catcher, DH and pinch-hitting.

Looking to bolster their pitching staff, the Cardinals would be willing to part with talented center fielder Colby Rasmus for Edwin Jackson or Matt Thornton, and a prospect, according to the report. There is no indication, but it is presumed that the Cardinals would pick up the remainder of the contract on either Jackson or Thornton. White Sox general manager Kenny Williams has been interested in Rasmus before and in previous years has done whatever it takes to get somebody he wanted.
Listen, Theo phan-boyz, your crazy spin can't hide the fact that Terry Francoma is a TOTAL MORAN, John Lackey not only walks too many people but also rapes, kills, and then eats kittens, and JD Drew actually died 2 months ago and is only playing as a partially-reanimated corpse. - BriantheTaoist
