This power surge he is on is crazy, and the SSS concerns fade by the day. This is not some older AAAA dude feasting on California League pitching; this is a fairly young guy in an age-appropriate league. So when does the site bump him up beyond #33 in the system? He seems a pretty clear top 15 at this point, maybe even skirting the top 10.

@Kevin_Goldstein CH Chiang with a xbh every 6 PA's. Nice LH swing. Anything there? @ianfromnj Scouting reports on Chiang are solid, but not as good as the numbers.

Not trying to be snarky -- I am legitimately trying to learn about what is perceived to be the reasons why Chiang may not succeed at the higher levels. Because I can't figure out what they are just by reading box scores everyday. Also, this gives us some way to measure whether he is addressing those weaknesses. Scouting report says, "Has poor platoon split against lefties?" - Box score says, "Chiang goes 2-for-4 against lefty starter with a HR and double." Progress.

I know he started to hit at an impressive pace with a big string of doubles in the second half of 2010, but milb.com only has the current season's splits. The only numbers I have recorded are his OPS from the first three months: .398 in April, .598 in May, .725 in June and he finished with a .732 season OPS.
