Jerez. Some questions on whether he is 19 or 23. I trust that the Red Sox did their thorough background search to verify his age.

To squelch such rumors, Jerez Sr. has provided his son's birth certificate, along with his passport and a permanent residency card to a number of major league scouts even though prospects aren't required to do so until after they are drafted. Jerez Sr. refused to show those documents to The News, but several scouts confirmed that based on the papers, Williams was born on May 16, 1992, making him 19 and entitled to play in the PSAL this past season.

How can it be part of the Red Sox Draft philosophy to play defense against the Yankees or any other team? Honest question there. Aren't they drafting the players they think have the best chance to advance through the system with some signability concerns thrown in?

Listen, Theo phan-boyz, your crazy spin can't hide the fact that Terry Francoma is a TOTAL MORAN, John Lackey not only walks too many people but also rapes, kills, and then eats kittens, and JD Drew actually died 2 months ago and is only playing as a partially-reanimated corpse. - BriantheTaoist
