I think the bigger question is why doesn't Philly just keep Lee? That'd make them the unparalleled favorite in the NL and an even more legitimate contender for a WS. Why would we ever PH for Varitek? According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, it's a $$ thing: Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Roy Halladay and his agent have checked into a Philadelphia-area hotel, according to two Inquirer sources. Happ and Kyle Drabek, outfielders Domonic Brown, Michael Taylor and Anthony Gose. He's just saying IF Felix was involved (he's definitely not) then it'd just be a three way swap of aces, that'd make this current ace swap even more ridiculous

The Saunders and Aumont pieces are generally assumed. Rumor is that the Mariners need to net one starting pitcher, so if Morrow is in the deal (as is rumored) they would need to get a second pitcher back from Philly (hence, Happ).

The Halladay trade is being covered in the general MLB thread. aminahyaquin: Alou is a 37 year old 7 time MVP with a .347 lifetime batting average and a world of hustle. he can golden glove field in his sleep. tGG: Alou is actually 42, has never won an MVP, has a .303 lifetime batting average, and is mediocre at best in the field. joshv02: But, other than that, you're wrong. Foxsports.com is speculating that it may be Taylor rather than Brown going to Toronto. EDIT: 710 KIRO out of Seattle is reporting that Tyson Gillies (OF, Canadian) and Juan Ramirez (P) may be the other two prospects and that Saunders is not in the deal.
