From Ben Badler's twitter:
Owners want international draft. Michael Weiner says the union wouldn't oppose an int'l draft. Seems clear where we're heading
Discuss. Should there be an international draft? Should it just be combined into one draft? Should they raise the international age limit to comply with the age limits for North American players? Why are there different age limits to begin with? How is that equitable? If there were different age limits for an international draft, might it incentivize North American Players to establish residency elsewhere to become eligible at an earlier date? What effects would an international draft have on international bonuses? Would teams have to staff their scouting departments differently? Completely alter their calendars? If there were two drafts, should the team with the worst record in the previous season get to pick first in both drafts? Would they take place at the same time of year? Would it create a world of administrative problems? Would name changes and birth date verifications cause any addiitonal problems than they already do?
