Important Champions League game between Internazionale Milano and FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou tomorrow. The champs are playing for their life, if they lose
and Rubin Kazan wins they are out of the champions league. Inter, although they are first now, could very well fall to third with a combination of results so
they need a win or a draw. My prediction is that Barcelona and Inter draw, Rubin Kazan looses.

The best weekend of the year for league play is here!
Arsenal v Chelsea Real v Barca Insanity tomorrow morning folks... although that Arsenal/Chelsea game has lost some of its star power with Van Persie/Bendtner/Gibbs/Clichy/Diaby with Chelsea not having Boswinga as well as Drogba/Lampard/Deco/Ashley Cole being likely less than 100% At least we get all of Barca and Real talent (except for Yaya getting the dreaded swine flu), still a question mark if CR starts, but If he can play I'm sure he wll seeing how important the game is. |

Arsenal has won every home game this year in all competitions. Chelsea has been playing fantastic of late. Should be a good match on Sunday - Arsenal needs a
win as they are 8 points behind right now.

Van Persie will be out longer than expected, this could really hurt their chances of challenging Man U and Chelsea for the title. Their attack looked flat last
weekend, Fabregas will have to do more than he usually does.

Their attack has tons of depth (Hard to look at last week when they didn't have both Arshavin and Van Persie and Cesc was a bit fatigued as well).
It's their losses n the back that I'm worried about. Hopefully they can get another quality defender in January, I wasn't too worried about Man U,
they just haven't looked good all year, but Valenica is starting to string together some very good games and to me he's their key. If he doesn't
contribute its basically Rooney all alone with the occasional brilliant Giggs Cross/Free Kick/Corner. However if he's able to contribute like he has
lately then their attack is much, MUCH better.
Edit: Fucking Defensive miscues! Not just the own goal, but throughout the half they've been giving up the ball and allowing too much space on the wings. That Drogba goal was beautiful but it wasn't just Vermalean that messed up(although he can hardly be blamed really), it looked like Almunia was completely out of position since he was way behind Drogba on the cross, if he was where he should have been the ball might not have gone in. Also, Arshavin is so maddingly inconsistent. When he's on he's truly world class, bu he's sinking up the joint today making dumb passes and lacking any hustle on getting back on the ball and into the play. If he's hidding an injury then he's not hiding it well enough and it may be time to get Walcott in. Hopefully Arsenal can make it a closer game quickly because its been really good so far. Well... that was anti-climactic...Time for El Classico!

Good first half from Real Madrid. Kaka was awesome.... Cristiano Ronaldo looked good when he got the balll. Barcelona hasn't played bad but they havent
really tested Real Madrid's bad defense. I expect an excellent 2nd half, there will be goals.

Excellent game, about as flawlessly played as possible except Busque (sp?) and Marcello (tons of dumb passes in the 1st half).
The Ibra goal was an absolute gem. Puyol is such a badass defender, It's amazing anybody can score in the middle against Barca with him and Pique there. |

The pools for the world cup has been announced(click here) and surprisingly CONCACAF is in pool #2. France after controversially
advancing to the world cup are in the 4th pool with Portugal and most of the teams that had to play a playoff game. I think this will lead to better groups,
more balanced groups and better match ups in the early stages, which will hurt the favorites.
I don't know in what FIFA is basing this but the formula that they supposedly use doesn't add up for this results but then again they are FIFA and they do what ever the f the want most of the time. Am Dominican and you?? |

Please please please get USA into the group with South Africa. The rest of the teams in that group are monsters.

What the fuck is the soccer power index? Don't get me wrong any list with England ranked above Germany, Portugal and Italy is a good one but seriously did
ESPN just throw darts at a mentally handicapped kid(Norbit) till he yelled out country names?

WOW Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast in the same group while Argentina works its "magic" once again and gets an easier group even than the host
nation. The U.S gets a relatively easy group and France what can you say, they are in the good graces of Mr. Blatter.

At least Ireland still has "moral compensation" which I'm sure makes 'em feel all better.
I knew Portugal would wind up in the group of death, France and them were the best teams in that group so unless one of them drew South Africa they were going to be in a tough group unless they lucked into some cakewalk. Still, that was a kick the nuts to see. Brazil v. Portugal should be excellent. |

Nobit, the host nation got perhaps the toughest draw possible. That's still a really good group with France, Uruguay, and Mexico. By FIFA rankings, those
three teams are better than all of the teams in Germany's and Italy's draw. Just imagine if one of the other 7 teams got that draw besides South Africa
- it would have been the ultimate group of death with 4 very strong teams.

I agree, and I was surprise actually. I thought they would get an easier group to get them at least through the first round. Brazil v. Portugal will be the
highlight of the first round but I hope that Portugal doesn't kick as much as they did to Pelé.

I like the USA-England and Brazil-Portugal matchups. It has a country vs their colonizer theme.
I'm still rooting for England though, if they don't make it close this year they never will. |

Man City absolutely owned Chelsea in an incredible game. Up there with the Manc derby earlier this year.
I love watching good Tevez play, he's a freaking maniac out there. Inter v Juventus next. |

So apparently being put in not only the group of death but also the path of death (if they get 2nd in their group they'll have to face Spain, then Italy
then either Germany or Argentina then possibly Brazil again in the finals), Portugal is also likely losing Pepe for the world cup to an ACL tear. Also, the
Real Yankees suffer another injury (I suppose calling them the Real Mets would also be appropriate).
Some good games with upsets yesterday in the premiere league. Aston Villa did an excellent job with Man U, really shut them down defensively. The Chelsea v Everton game was hectic. Also Real Madrid beat Vallenica in a seesaw game without Ronaldo and Kaka. However hopefull all of that is just foreplay before today's Liverpool v Arsenal game. |

Man City is quickly becoming must see football as they beat Sunderland 4-3 in an excellent thriller. Bellamy is one of the most entertaining players to watch
out there him and Tevez' pace up front can sometimes combine for some great moments.
Man U got absolutely owned in every conceivable way by Fullham 3-0. Sure the defensive injuries are killing them but their midfield outside of Valencia was absolutely worthless giving away possession an unspeakable amount of times. Speaking of which, obviously Valencia isn't replacing Ronaldo, but he's been an excellent playmaker for United after a shaky start. It'll be interesting to see what Ferggie does during the transfer window since the biggest problem right now is defensive depth, however they should be gettting guys back soon. But to me the big problem is the age and ineffectiveness of their midfielders. They've got decent defensive chops and when Giggs is there it helps a lot, but they are having so much trouble getting the ball up front to Rooney that he has effectively become useless to them. I'm not sure if its the lack of Ronaldo's presence (and the double teams he used to get that would open things up for everyone else) or if their midfielders just have collectively taken a step back but Man U is bearing very little resemblance to years past. And Liverpool is just plain fucked losing against last place Portsmouth, what a horrible season they are having. Also, WTF? No talk of the Champions league draw? Inter v Chelsea... Man U vs AC Milan and my two favorite teams Arsenal v Porto! Can't believe we have to wait two months.

That Inter-Chelsea game will be something to watch. Mou back in Stamford Bridge with a chance to throw dirt at Roman Abramovich. But we have enough time to
talk about all this games.

Barcelona completes the cycle. I think they've won every tournament they've been on.
