Sure you can make the argument that they are undefeated, great offense/defense, and best total net points. But they have an extremely easy schedule. The only good teams they have to play from here on out are the Patriots and the Cowboys.
Match them up against the Colts, the Vikings, the Patriots (Week 12), the Steelers, and even the Broncos and see how they make out.

I believe the Saints are better than the Colts. Their arsenal of RB's (Mike Bell, Pierre Thomas, and Reggie Bush) reminds me a lot of the 1972 Dolphins
stable of RB's (Jim Kiick, Mercury Morris, Larry Csonka). They have played tougher opponents then the Colts have and they have won, at Phillie, the Giants,
Jets, Atlanta. Their offense has so many weapons, and their corners are playing shut down football. They should be able to coast into the game against New
England. The Colts running attack of Joseph Addai pales in my opinion to the Saints RB's, It would probably be a lot better with Donald Brown. Not to
mention I would rather take the Saints WR's over the Colts. The Colts competition this year has not matched the Saints, the Saints unbeaten record is more

This defense really struggles to make a play on 3rd down.
edit: Thankfully the offense is still nasty.
Why would we ever PH for Varitek? I mean, what if we PH for him, and it goes to extras, and vic martinez gets eaten by
dinosaurs? We'd have to use the emergency catcher.

IIRC at the draft he was reportedly underweight and would need to put on pounds to be a factor. I also recall him being undrafted on a lot of boards so it was surprising that the Pats snagged him in the 2nd. |

Vollmer has been playing exceptionally well. Aside from the fact that he's taken more holding penalties than you'd like, I'm amazed that the kid is
doing so well protecting Tom Brady in his first year. Big test next week.

I hope to see Vollmer protecting Tom so well from DE Dwight Freeney. It's big test for him this Sun game. Matt Light have history problems with Jason
Taylor, Joey Porter, Dwight Freeney, Aaron Schobel, and so forth. I still think Matt will be either release or trade by end of the NFL season if Sebastian
Vollmer doing well in upcoming reg/playoffs games in his spot. It would clear up salary cap (for 2011 & beyond) for resigning Vince Wilfork.

In wake of Larry Johnson release from the Chiefs, I am wondering is there any chance that he has any utility left for a team that actually has an offensive
line.
Looking at his career numbers LJ it seems as though he may just be worn down, but playing for Belichick's boys has revived a few careers, and is a considerable more favorable situation than Kansas City. Of course he is a knucklehead, this is obvious, but if he still possesses the physical tools that once made him a superstar in the league, I can certainly imagine him being a big factor in the patriots running game, which has been disappointing. He has now cleared waivers, leaving the Chiefs on the hook for his original contract - Does anybody think it'd be worth offering him a minimum contract and a roster spot? What is the downside? |

I have a feeling the Light/Vollmer issue will sort itself out next year when Stephen Neal gets the boot, Light will move to right tackle and Kaczur will move
to RG. As of right now Vollmer has much better physical tools to stop Freeney, even if Freeney gets under his pad level Vollmer has enough strength to not
look like Light did against Schobel. Light's reasonable cap figure for next year has no trade value, he's also talented still so there's no use in
releasing him. If Maroney runs with the same mean streak he did last week, he will eviscerate the colts d-line and their tiny ass linebackers.

Going for it on 4th down like that is like me playing Madden. If our defense was tired, or whatever the reason was that we didn't punt, why wouldn't you want the Colts to go 75 yards instead of 30? |

I was saying the same thing as Bill did post-game. If we convert that first down, the game is essentially over. I stand by his decision, but there was some
definite timeout mismanagement happening. It cost us the ability to challenge, and to stop the clock (almost certainly have really mattered in terms of
stopping the clock, the way things transpired). The PI call was jus' turble.
