Imagine if he chooses to play short instead of pitch? His prospect status will plummet. The Sox will go from having a projected 1 or 2 on their hands to a project they need to develop at short stop/3b and not a lot of room to play him at short in any of their affiliates without taking away time from another prospect. My guess is if you start seeing him in trade rumors he's leaning towards short stop and the Sox want to get value for him now, but maybe i'm just paranoid.
