Veteran Member Posts: 197 09/11/09 7:49 PM	Tags : None Keith Law goes through a list of why the Brewers should trade Fielder, and I'm just wondering, from the Milwaukee side, what it would take to get him, and from the Sox side, how much we'd be willing to give up. I think Milwaukee wouldn't take less than Bard, Bowden, Rizzo and a cf (Mailman, Place, Hissey, etc.) They'd probably also be happy with Bowden, Rizzo, Dubront or Pimentel and Kalish. Dunno if any of those would be copacetic, but mostly cause I'm not sure we need him.

Reportedly they want to use Fielder's haul to rebuild the starting pitching, right field, and catcher. The RS could offer Bowden, Anderson, Reddick, and Expo for starters. Lower level prospects could sweeten the offer. This deal seems very workable unless Mil wants a proven ML player in the package. The deal could also be expanded to include JJ Hardy which would help both teams. Maybe MDC or a couple of pitching prospects gets this done.

Well than the whole future catcher arguement would jumpstart again. I say we sign some 16 year old catching phenom from the DR this offseason. Other than that, it would be an awesome deal as a player like Bowden would probably thrive in a division like the NL Central.

Veteran Member Posts: 59 09/16/09 4:49 PM	the trade proposed earlier was far too little ,Ithink to get feilder (without using the chips that will be used to get felix hernandez) then I would offer something like: Ryan Kalish/Josh Reddick (whichever is left from the hernandez deal),Michael Bowden,Felix Doubront,Che-Hsuan Lin, and Daniel Bard

Milwaukee needs Fielder to sell tickets for 2010. They'll take the draft picks happily. The Sox should sign him after 2010.

They already have a good foundation in Gallardo and Braun, plus young players like Escobar, McGehee, Gomez and Hart. If they could pick up some good pitching prospects and a hitter of two in this trade they could develop a solid team for years to come. Why give 100% when 35 can get you paid and laid. -Kenny Powers
