That's what I said. I don't care how hot A-rod has been hitting but you never put the tying run on base and bring the go ahead run to the plate. At most, you pitch around A-rod and see if he can chase something down and away. Girardi can't seem to win with the way he handles his pitching staff.

I think that the one inning was done to allow Weaver to come back for a potential Game 7. If you pitch him more than an inning, you probably lose him as a potential Game 7 starter. Just a guess.

They have a better chance of closing out the Angels in 6 games with Sabathia pitching and still could have him start game 2 of the World Series. Now if they lose game 6 they have to pitch Sabathia in game 7 and then he won't be available until game 3 of the World Series. All the pressure is on the MFYs tonight. P-If Scioscia was smart (which he is not), he won't pitch Fuentes tonight as he can't handle the playoff pressure, particularly in Yankee Stadium.

If they start Sabathia tonight, he'd only be available for two starts in the WS if they make it. At least Pettitte gives them a chance to throw CC three times against the LHB heavy Phillies. Pettitte's no Sabathia, but it's not like they're passing up CC to start Chad Gaudin.

Watching A-rod say 'that pitch was a strike' makes me love him a little more.
