Their group is the most exciting to me this year. There doesn't appear to be much of a group of death this year, but the Juve-Bayern and Inter-Barca matchups should be exciting.

Are they really favored? It can't be by much as the game is going to be played in Italy. Should be a really interesting game to watch though.

It's such a shame that Iker Casillas will be spending the rest of his life in prison after he goes on the inevitable murderous rampage of his entire
"defense" in front of him.
Anybody who thinks Real is better than Barca needs to have their head checked. Real may beat up on the inferior clubs but with that swiss cheese defense they are gonna get beat by quality opponents regularly. |

Cool, I've got that to look forward to now! Also, why don't you want Russia to qualify? They are fun as hell to watch and even though they are one of
the seeded teams they aren't good enough to be considered a favorite if you are trying to work the underdog angle.
There should be a few good non-premier league games this week as Barca play Valencia and Juventus play Fiorentina |

Big game between Lyon and Liverpool on the 20th. Liverpool is 1-1, Lyon is 2-0 and Liverpool already lost to Fiorentina. It would be big if Liverpool lost.
They havent been playing as good as they are capable of. A loss would not be good for there standing in their group. EDIT: DATE

Barcelona got stunned today in UEFA play. AC Milan came back and beat a Ronaldo-less Read Madrid team. Liverpool lost, that team is so disappointing.

Liverpool showed a ton of heart in today's game against Man-U... Man-U... not so much, they seemed all too happy to try for a tie without actually, you
know... trying.
Also, Fernando Torres is quickly becoming one of my favorite players, his work rate is off the charts. |

Well, if you are on board with it then I might have to rethink that statement...
Also, Man U's defense is looking incredibly shaky this year. Rio has been lackluster, Vidic is up and down and Evra is more of a midfielder than a defender at this point (I though Liverpool should have exploited him a bit more with the early yellow). Barca can be such a mesmerizing team, the Messi-Ibra combo is working so amazingly well, that team is just freaking stacked with talent. |

After losing to AC Milan, Alexandre Pato and failing to score a goal in La Liga El Real Madrid is in decline. Without Cristiano they've looked bad. The
press in Madrid were trying to say that Barca was in decline too but they just answered with a 6 goal game.

I can't believe Arsenal drew yesterday. I switched to the Pats and they were up 2-0 on West Ham. Man, that's a bad missed opportunity.
I was about to mention how the Premier League looks up for grabs this year and any one of 5 teams could will it (sorry Tottenham, you're pretenders), but not getting the three points yesterday is a tough blow for the Gunners. I still think they have an outside but they'll probably be in a battle with Liverpool and Man City this year for 3rd. |

I haven't watched enough of Chelsea, but from what I've seen of the others, I haven't been too impressed. I felt going into the year that Chelsea
had the slight edge and as long as the appeal gets granted for the January window I still feel that Chelsea has the inside track to win the league. Liverpool
isn't good enough, while I think Arsenal is it'll take a great deal of health as well as players playing to their potential. Man U just hasn't
impressed me beyond the Man City game, they've looked flat except for decent performances out of certain players. There's still a ton of ball to play,
but I haven't seen a team yet that seems to be the clear cut best.
I was also shocked at the Arsenal draw, I went for a run after the first half thinking there's no way West ham will get back... silly me. I've been enjoying watching their games, but while the highs are certainly high (Best attack in England) the lows are really f*ing low too. In regards to Real, I said it before and I'll say it again, their defense absolutely sucks and their offense is still trying to find itself. Without Ronaldo its Kaka trying to set others up and everybody running around confused. As much of a high payment the Eto'o Ibra swap was it was also a brilliant move to bolster their team for the likely Henry /Messi injuries. Ibra's ability to playmake as well as hold the ball up front has really opened up some excellent scoring from the attacking mids. When Barca's on its a beautiful thing to see. |

Yesterday El Real Madrid lost 4-0 to a second division team in La Copa del Rey (Kings Cup). Some actual starters were playing especially on defense and up
front with Benzema and Raul. With this result I don't know how anyone can say they are not in trouble. They spent all that money with big named players but
they didn't addressed their biggest weakness which is their defense. Plus the coach isn't playing the players they signed the right way, Kaka is
playing way back in the mid field instead of a more attacking midfielder which he played in Milan and he is good at.

Gotta love the Florentino Perez second go around. Marcelo as a LB is a disgrace, I can't wait to see what Messi does with him after seeing how Navas and
Pato just destroyed him. Although not as bad, Ramos on the other side is pretty weak too.

Well, Arsenal looked like crap for the first half and then Tottenham forget there were 45 minutes in the half not 42. Fabregas' goal was excellent though.
Excellent result, as long as Arsenal don't pile up too many injuries I think with an astute defensive pickup in January they should make a real run at the
Premier title.
Chelski v. ManU this upcoming Sun, big game even though its early. This league should be close this year, but if Chelsea wins then they are clearly in the driver's seat and I'm pretty sure they can still get some transfers through in Jan and you know they will go balls out to make a splash to shore up their team for the near future if a ban does happen. |

I think he's quickly becoming one of the best. Him and Arshavin have been an absolutely amazing duo this year.
I laugh when I hear Man U acting like its between them and Chelsea. How quickly they forget that Arsenal outplayed them in their matchup and Arsenal has been way better so far this year. If they keep moderately healthy and maybe add a half decent defender in the transfer window then to me its between Chelsea and Arsenal. I haven't seen anywhere near enough out of Man U. Every big win they had was not really very impressive.
