Kearse has been a healthy scratch before this season, he's a mediocre player at this point. The best thing about todays game was the play of SeaBass, dominated Vandenbosh. Also Pat Chung played his ass off when he got in there, blowing up 4 runs by Chris Johnson, and the INT. Myron Pryor gave good pressure up the middle as well. The youngings be contributing.

It didn't matter how shitty their d backs were on those because Brady has overthrown a wide open moss many times this season. Nice to see Maroney get a handful of carries .... maybe he can get more of a prominent role in the offense in the future. On another note, nice to see Junior back out there at the age of 40.

Hopefully, we get another blowout game against bad 0-6 TB in London (England fans will root hard for the Patriots). I look forward to their next game soon.

Well, what else can you ask for? Agreed, which is why I was more satisfied in how Brady had only one incomplete pass until the final drive of the half. Grant it, you could have driven a mack truck between the receivers and defenders, but he still didn't miss any throws like he had been on occasion in the previous games this year.

Veteran Member Posts: 1553 10/20/09 11:39 AM	Busy Day(s) in the NE Front Office: Released - Tully Banta-Cain, Eric Alexander, Michael Matthews and Joey Galloway. Note - Don't think this is necessarily a pre-cursor to the Pats making a trade (deadline is COB today). Many feel that TBC and Alexander are just Cap maneuvering and will re-sign shortly. Also, Pats needed 2 spots for Mark LeVoir and Brandon Tate (2 PUP/NFI list players that are eligible to return to practice this week). Interestingly, Matthews is the biggest suprise (given Galloway's problems and inactivity) since they only have 2 TE's now (though the OLs have been lining up as blockers in many short yardage situations).

Banta-Cain (already re-signed) and Alexander are candidates for extensions but they were signed under veteran minimum deals. By rule, these can't be renegotiated. So if the Pats want to extend them (and they seem to fit the plan of the Pats extending cheap role players) they needed to release and then sign. Further, after today, released players need to go through waivers so the Pats needed to do this today. Room for LeVoir/Tate (+ Galloway's lack of fit) likely explain the other 2 releases (JG and Matthews).

Can Sam Aiken or either activated players (Brandon Tate or Terrence Nunn) off from injury/practice squad save the team by doing the job like Julian did? I hope so. Who knows that they'll land Deion Branch from Seattle via the trade for immediately help.

Veteran Member Posts: 721 10/26/09 5:53 PM Veteran Member	Lets start off the bye week chatter with a look at the schedule the rest of the way: Off the bye is what should be a very winnable matchup vs. Miami. Following that theres the toughest stretch of the season with @Indy, Jets, @Saints. Those two road games are gonna be tough but at least the Pats have these tough games not long after the bye. After that it should be more or less easy pickings with Miami, Carolina, Buffalo, Jacksonville and Houston. I think 7-2 on the final stretch for a 12-4 record is definitely attainable. 11-5 should at least get them into the playoffs tho. Anything less than that and something has gone pretty wrong.

The best team they have played is the Philadelphia Eagles and according to ESPN's power rankings the Eagles are ranked 9th in the NFL. Sure you can make the argument that they are undefeated, great offense/defense, and best total net points. But they have an extremely easy schedule. The only good teams they have to play from here on out are the Patriots and the Cowboys. Match them up against the Colts, the Vikings, the Patriots (Week 12), the Steelers, and even the Broncos and see how they make out.
