Precisely, AMarsh. These two teams will probably wear themselves out and give the winner even less chance against the Yankees. But this game itself is worth it
- it is likely to be as good or better than any game we see in the playoffs.

It's amazing how these past 2 one game playoffs have actually been better than anticipated.

wow, this is quite the game. The teams probably are wearing themselves out a bit but could provide enough momentum for the team to pull off the upset

Anyone else think that, while there was no way a sane umpire would have called it as such given how much the ball beat him to the plate by, Casilla may have
slipped his hand in there?
I'm not sure, but it looks like it might have. It's times like this when I wish these games were on a sports station that knew how to pull up the best replay and show it in slow-motion, rather than TBS. |

I was unsure too, Chris. I re-watched the slide/tag in slow mo with the DVR. He was out.
aminahyaquin: Alou is a 37 year old 7 time MVP with a .347 lifetime batting average and a world of hustle. he
can golden glove field in his sleep.
tGG: Alou is actually 42, has never won an MVP, has a .303 lifetime batting average, and is mediocre at best in the field. joshv02: But, other than that, you're wrong. |

Great, great game. Too bad the Yankees will likely beat the ass of the team that wins today.

That play Granderson just made was identical to the play Raburn botched to lead off the last inning. What a difference a couple inches makes.

edit: I agree that he was out. But, that's pretty damn close for how far he should have been out by.

When talking to reporters about the announcement that Jose Molina will be catching Burnett, Posada said, "I just hope we win that game. That's all
I've got to say." Sarcastically second-guessing your manager and insulting your teammate (Molina) at the same time.

In fairness to Posada, he's completely right:
Posada: .285/.363/.522 Molina: .217/.292/.268 Yes, I realize that Molina is far better defensively. I don't think there's enough catcher defense in the universe to close that gap. (He's slugging .268! Two-sixty-eight!)

You guys want him to be happy he's not playing in deference to a clearly inferior player? Of course he's going to be frustrated.

I believe that Molina is catching because Posada and Burnett have had problems with pitch selection. The Yankees have enough offense without Posada; however,
they are probably more concerned about Burnett's mental state of mind which is why they are starting Molina.
