I've been meaning to do this for a while. The 2005 Draft was historically strong, and without a doubt the best in recent memory. The following chart is
sorted by career WAR (which includes offense and defense) and includes each of the first five round draftees that have experienced major league service time.
Initially, I did the first ten rounds, but decided to trim it down to the first five because they became pretty insignificant as it went down.
Quick note: Hochevar was drafted by LAD, but didn't sign.
Notable prospects who were omitted because they either haven't really produced or haven't been called up: Ricky Romero, Cameron Maybin, Nolan Reimold, Jensen Lewis, Brett Gardner, Taylor Teagarden, Chris Getz, Mat Gamel.
