Younginer and Stroup are there as well.

What's WML status? Is he still out for a while?

Yeah, I mean it takes four months to recover from a broken collarbone.

TheGoldenGreek33 wrote: Not quite. Even for surgical procedures to repair broken collarbones for adults who have stopped growing, the recovery time usually isn't more than 10 weeks. In WML's case, the recovery time for an athletic and growing teenager should be around 8 weeks. Add a few weeks on for rehab, and you're at around 12 weeks. |

This should be a good group to watch. I'm really looking forward to how the younger guys do (i.e., Younginer , Stroup,Renfroe, Jacobs and Thompson).

What kind of info (reports or box scores, etc) do we get from Instrux? Also, CK has signed him up for a pretty long year. He pitched, now he's in Instrux,
and assumably, he'll finish up in the AFL. I love that he loves playing so much.

SoxSail, we don't get anything from Instrux. It's very informal, not unlike XST.
Note with Kelly that he's only played shortstop since what, late July? Makes sense that he'd play in both Instrux and the AFL if he and the Sox really intended on giving the SS thing a fair shot. |

Gammons usually drops a few Theo hints, one a hit, one a miss.
2004 http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/gammons/story?id=1909591 Scouting director David Chadd has worked hard with the Epstein organization to reconstruct what had become a shallow farm system. The initial Instructional League assignment for 6-foot-5, 18-year-old lefty Mike Rozier -- to whom they gave $1.55 million -- was beyond their imagination. 2006 http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=gammons_peter#20061009 One of the shining lights in their [Red Sox] regular Instructional League has been first-round pick Daniel Bard, from North Carolina, who has regularly hit 99-100 mph in two outings. |

A couple of thoughts on the list:
1. This is the US debut of Iglesias and Vinicio, as well as the return from the DCL of Oscar Perez and the US debut of three DCL pitchers - Juan Rodriguez, Francisco Taveras and Raynel Velette 2. There are 16 draftees - pitchers Chris Court, Eric Curtis, Jordan Flasher, Renny Parthemore, Kendal Volz and Madison Younginer; infielders Miles Head, Chris McGuiness, David Renfroe and Jason Thompson; and outfielders Reymond Fuentes, Alex Hassan, Jeremy Hazelbaker, Brandon Jacobs, Seth Schwindenhammer and Shannon Wilkerson. Alex Wilson, Michael Thomas, Willie Holmes, Michael Bugary, Tom Ebert, Jeremiah Bayer, Timmy Webb, Kyle Rutter, Jordan Sallis, Drew Hedman and the undrafted signees are not attending. Note that Eric Curtis is the only JC player attending, while there are seven college players attending. 3. There are 22 players who were pre-draft - pitchers Drake Britton, Cesar Cabral, Yeiper Castillo, Randy Consuegra, Leandro Marin, Roman Mendez, Pedro Perez, Manny Rivera, Kyle Stroup, Richie Wasielewski and Tyler Wilson; catchers Carson Blair, Chia-Chu Chen, Ryan Lavarnway and Christian Vazquez; infielders Michael Almanzar, Jose Garcia, Derrik Gibson, Casey Kelly, Will Middlebrooks and Oscar Tejeda; and outfielder Wilfred Pichardo. 4. No one at Salem or above is attending, which is not a surprise. Leonadro Marin is the only pitcher at Greenville to be attending, which is also not a surprise. 5. Whither Pete Hissey? |

feeling lazy today)
