Announcement on the move from Norwich to Richmond due this week... I had heard somewhere, that they may re-align the divisions... but nothing solid. The Cardinals have voided outfielder Wagner Mateo's contract, citing "pre-existing injuries and physical defects" in a statement.BA edit: It's an interesting case. The pre-existing injuries and physical defects has to do with him having 20/30 vision in his right eye and an infection from his contact lenses that the doctors did not sign off on the physical because of. Seriously, take $5,000 out of his $3.1M bonus and get the kid Lasik. I foresee a legal issue here. edit #2: My Cardinals friend told me STL had 90 days to void the contract, so if Mateo's agent decides to file grievance, it won't withhold. They say the eye condition is degenerative, but I honestly don't see how a simple lasik surgery procedure won't fix it. With Holliday and DeRosa about to hit free agency, the timing is fitting.

Mateo isnt one I followed since we were not in on him. Is he one that Theo and company could be a factor with if his vision is considered a correctable problem
by us?

And that is if the problem reported is an ametropy and thus correctable by LASIK, there are hundreds of ocular problems which impact your vision. Anyway,
vision never really stabilizes, there's always a tendency to myopia it is just that much more evident before that age. You could always send him to do the
surgery abroad, around here it isn't prohibited, just strongly advised against doing it, none of the hospitals where I've done internship would allow
anyone under 18 or without stable refractive error for 2 years among other criteria.
I once lost a bet on who would have the highest season SLG% because of a scorer. The guy I had a bet with had a clear error ruled a double in
the last game of the season and it was the margin of victory.
It was amateur baseball and normally not something you would remember but in this case, the bet was who was going to ask a hot chick named Brin out after she lost her loser boyfriend. The other guy won, she broke up with her bf and he took her out. A year later they got married. Did I mention that she was hot, very hot ? Oh yeah, the official scorer was the other guys mother.
