The only problem with having AlGon as a regular SS is that he intersperses interludes of offensive competence between stretches of relative offensive
hopelessness. If he is kept as the regular SS next year I can guarantee that there will be many times when people on this board will gnash their teeth in
frustration as AlGon kills rallies and is a general black hole in the lineup. It's who he is, and I doubt that he's going to change his stripes at age
33.
Now if you're willing to put up with the liklihood of that type of frustration, by all means, let's sign him up for next year. |

Varitek might be the worst player in baseball.
Why would we ever PH for Varitek? I mean, what if we PH for him, and it goes to extras, and vic martinez gets eaten by
dinosaurs? We'd have to use the emergency catcher.

Atleast this game was on national TV so everyone can see that Varitek is effing terrible. can't hit, can't run, can't throw a runner out to save
his life, and can't even field his position. this guy is by far the weakest link.

Hey soon enough, Varitek will retire and we will open a thread about how great of a career he had with the Red Sox...but that is for later, for now it is about
how he threw this game away, and how he sucks. Please Just retire after this season Jason.
Plus, we all wish VTek was a .250 hitter.

Well, AlGon [right now] is a .290 hitter, and Varitek is a .210 hitter, so it all averages out .....
Nice job by MDC somehow getting out of the 8th. Thanks for stealing 2B, Abreu -- took the bat right out of Hunter's hands, and put it in the hands of the Angels' coldest hitter right now. Now we need to see some more offense. |
