I didn't know where to put this but I thought it was worthwhile to share.If you haven't seen this movie yet I would strongly recommend it to everyone. The basic story line concerns a young Dominican ballplayer( a highly touted prospect) who arrives in the U.S. with no English and what it is like for someone dealing with the frustrations of dealing with a different language and culture as a teenager. It is an HBO production. It has English subtitles.The movie gave me even a greater appreciation of what these young players from Latin America go through. Special features are not too bad either.
In one of the special featues there are interviews with players like Pedro and Sammy Sosa who relate their experiences. Pedro talks about arriving from the Dominican and starting in Montana. Talk about culture shock.
