perform better in the future. This poll will close on Tuesday, September 15, at 4:00 pm ET. All stats are cumulative for all Red Sox minor league affiliates.

Overall, I think Tazawa had the best year.

I hope Casey Kelly looks at this site, maybe he will take the hint.

Hard not to like the seasons put up by all of these guys, but Buch dominated at the highest level of the minors. Another slight factor for him over Kelly is
the better K rate. I never saw Kelly pitch, but the K rate suggests he isn't completely dominating guys.

I'm surprised it's as much of a runaway. I agree with what Plantier said about voting for Buchholz (minus the last sentence, a .515 OPSa for Kelly is
domination). Clay was right behind him with a .541 OPSa, in a more power friendly environment.

Red, thanks for the data on OPSa. Yes, Kelly's number is dominant but he must be doing that with a very low BABIPa, since he's not striking out huge
numbers of guys. As a very rough rule of thumb, I'd like my future aces to K at least 1 guy per inning in the low minors. Huge K rates translate forward
into the upper levels, but I rather doubt that low BABIPa does. I wonder if Kelly is going to get hit more as he moves up levels, unless he starts missing
bats. Buch has already proven that nobody in the minors hits him, period.

I feel like you could make a case for any of these guys:
Fabian Williamson - Highest K/9 rate with consistent stats. Clay Buchholz - Dominance at highest level, Effective for MLB team. Casey Kelly - Great ERA/WHIP, broke out to top of the prospect board in half a season. Fernando Cabrera - Dominant closer in AAA, Solid ERA. Junichi Tazawa - Exceeded expectations, helped the big club, put up consistent stats. Jose Alvarez - Solid K/BB ratio (Same as Kelly).
Why give 100% when 35% can get you paid and laid. -Kenny Powers

Given that he led the system in both wins and innings pitched, a good argument could be made for Adam Mills.
