In the grand scheme of things it is all about developing talent and helping the major league team, but I think it absolutely sucks that Dice-K pitched in the playoffs for Salem.

Plus, my wife and I got to see Matsuzaka pitch in person.
Pretty good game... Brad Correll hit a 2-run HR, nailed a guy going from 1st to 3rd from RF, and made a nice catch on a sinking liner to end the inning. Jon Hee had some good hits, though I think he's the one who bounced a throw for an error.... though it was a play Rizzo really could have made. Rizzo didn't have the best game, took a couple of called 3rd strikes, but you never know, maybe the ump was wrong ... also had a couple of morons yelling his name all game. He did K on a high FB, as well, leaving both me and him shaking our heads. Mailman did not have good at-bats and appeared very frustrated after striking out on what he thought was ball 4. He'd started to first and tossed the bat, then had a few words for the ump and tossed his helmet ... I'm sure his promotion to Salem hasn't worked out like he'd hoped. Maybe a fresh season will get him back on track. Dice-K looked pretty good to me, but I'm just a fan. Lots of bad swings, 2 or 3 well-hit balls, including a liner to CF that Lin nearly ran down. He did some throwing on the side after the 6th, then came out for part of the 7th before leaving. Daisuke hit one guy, but only a little bit. FedEx had no chance on one of the Dash SBs, a ball in the dirt, and didn't waste a throw. Didn't see the other, but I think he at least made a throw.

Arquimedez Bozo wrote:Wilson in Salem next year has to be one of the more intriguing names to watch. If he can regain some of his lost velocity and bite on that slider, he'll be a nice bargain in the 2nd round. Let's face it - there are very few pitching prospects of note in the upper levels. Next year we'll have Kelly, Pimentel, Doubrant, Weiland, Fife and Wilson in the top three rungs somewhere. Not exactly Smoltz, Maddux and Glavine in the making there. If Wilson returns to his pre-TJ form, he can move fast.
