That is a really great interview with Expo on his prospect summary. I liked his matter of fact comment when asked whether someone saved his first HR ball with Portland: "Nah, it's not important. When I get to Boston, maybe they can save that one." I'm telling you, this is a guy that's feeling it right now. We may be watching the franchise's next era in catching in the process of developing right under our noses.

Maybe he's reached the zenith of his capabilities. Happens all the time.

Chris Carter is back in the lineup for the Pawsox. Gotta think there'll be some rust there.
Expo and Place both with solo jacks for the Dogs. |

Rizzo with a walk-off single giving Salem a big win.
SalemSox move into a tie for the wild card awaiting the Kinston result (they're up 9-6 in the fifth). |

Lavarnway's 20th home run tonight was his first this season against a lefthander (H/T to jdb).

adiospaydro2005 wrote:Aren't minor league doubleheaders 2 7-inning games (with 1 ticket)? In that case, your ticket wouldn't be good anyway. And I'm sure the Spinners don't have records of everyone who'd purchased tickets for tonight's game (for instance, people who paid cash prior to today).
How apropos, that on the day Schilling's career may be over, Ryan Pressly, the man so many have compared to
Schilling throughout his amateur career, will take the field wearing the #38. -Temple

adiospaydro2005 wrote:Sure they could play a double header, but perhaps the fact that Hudson Valley leaves today and Brooklyn comes in tomorrow would make that difficult. Oneonta played only one of their games tonight, losing 5-0, and the second game was washed out. Spinners Magic Number drops to six. |

So Lavarnway's 20 HR's how does that rank for a non Cal-league launchpad player in terms of most home runs?

Arquimedez Bozo wrote: a) Most Home runs hit. By a Sox organisational player. Not in the Cal League. A and AA to be specific. b) minimal effort on milb.com. Have you been on there lately? I was hoping one of the gurus on here would have had them handy for me. But I did manage to extract 5 years of data from milb.com which lists the inimitable Andrew Pinckney and Jon Still with 21 HR's as the most by a Greenville drive player in that timeframe. Edit: of course if I just read the news blog I would have known the answer already although that says Jon Still and John Otness...
