Tazawa didn't have the curve working early. He's had it going for the last few innings and has pitched much better. He's also locating his fastball better overall.

Does keeping Penny as a long reliever makes any sense to anyone? Penny has some value as either that or a spot starter/backup plan.

Not quite. Down on the Oregon Coast and finally came indoors to check the game, and comments from this series so far. Got to say there's a bit of a contrast yesterday to today. Tazawa's 3.57 ERA is great. But he's got a .952 OPS against (counting today). He has been very lucky/good with runners on base.

I knew he had been lucky but that's a surprisingly high OPS agasint.

I noticed Gameday showing his BA against as .338, so I did the math.
