I like Masterson but he is more of a roogy to me. He has not shown the ability to consistently get left handers out and I don't know if he ever will.

Anyway, either Bowden replaces Masterson and Tazawa is the backup SP, or , as Archie said, LaRoche could replace the reliever. The Sox are the only team in years with a strong enough pen to just jettison guys like this. I love it.

For Victor Martinez?? No way would I want Buchholz being involved, don't think I have said otherwise.

For Halladay and Gonzalez yes I would include Clay in any of those deals.

I am sure there is something else involved - probably somebody like Lin/Rizzo and only those of us on this site will be upset at the inclusion.

So this deal really means less time for Tek and Lowell, which is AWESOME.

Martinez is a beast. Remember, when the Sox came back against the Indians in 2007, he was the only Indian who was competing in game 6 and 7. He looked like he wanted to fight someone. He's always been a personal favorite. I really, really, hope this means less time for Tek behind the plate.

I am kind of hoping it means less time for Lowell in the field. He is going to kill us out there. Plus, you'd think playing first will help keep VMart's bat fresher.

I'm waiting to see who the othe prospects are, but I like this deal. Total gut feel, but I could see Place being included. Just a feel and by no means anything than pure speculation.

I was thinking the third prospect would be a mid level pitcher like Weiland, Price, or Richardson. I wouldn't be suprised if it was Pimentel or Doubront though
