Barring all that, they have to get Halladay. Could Penny realistically transition to the pen? I'd like to see it happen if they can't get rid of him via trade. He's just a two-pitch guy and his stuff should play up in the pen. Unbelievably, he's also been best in the first inning in games this year. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?n1=pennybr01&year=2009&t=p#innng

Today's Sox lineup (if its not rained out):
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF 2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B 3. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 4. Jason Bay, LF 5. David Ortiz, DH 6. Mike Lowell, 3B 7. J.D. Drew, RF 8. Jason Varitek, C 9. Nick Green, SS SP -- Jon Lester, LHP
Theo really needs to take Francona's binky (Nick Green) away from him, so he can't play him anymore.

Is terry just being careful with Lowrie's health, or does he really think alternating the two of them is giving us a better chance to win.

I have heard absolutely no concerns about Lowrie's health recently.... I like Lowrie a lot, but I think we need to make a roster move at SS, just so Francona can no longer play Nick Green.
