Fife must think walking people is for scrubs as he has a 13-1 K/BB rate on the year

To add a note many may miss: Reddick has taken 13 walks this month. He took 17 in 312 Lancaster at-bats.
I may be more excited about that than by the power (or at least, by the fact that the power is there despite it, as he had a similar walk rate in a similar sample size when he flopped in Portland at the end of last year). |

Josh Reddick's moustache | #43 | ||
|
So, has anyone seen Josh Reddick's moustache? Josh Reddick's moustache just may be worse than Adam Morrison's. He's rocking the
pre-pubescent, I still have peachfuzz look. But hey, anyone who can bat, run, and has a cannon for an arm, can rock just about anything nowadays.
I was at the Sea Dogs game in Portland on Sunday (sorry no first hand report, was drinking way too much with friends), so this is all I have to offer. If Reddick has 13HR's, his moustache must have twice that!
"Hot Rods announcer just reported that the mascot, a mackerel, just ate the batboy and that now the batboy's clothes are flying out the fishes mouth.
Shouldn't that be investigated ?" LCBF

Chris Carter in July: .306/.358/.471
Speaking with him last week (you'll see that Q&A next week probably), he said that he thought his approach was better this year than last, even though the results haven't been there. Perhaps this is the approach paying dividends? |

More fun with July splits, this one for those who are (justifiably) getting super-excited about Reddick and his mustache:
Reddick: .277/.360/.485 Kalish: .289/.352/.474 |

Recently, he has had his weight back and has been putting good swings on the ball. I'm expecting a nice stretch run for him after a real rough start. |

That 80+ point difference between Reddick's BA and OBP is good to see.

Can someone explain to me why Dave McKae is pitching in the Salem bullpen? I'd literally rather have ANY of the Greenville relief pitchers (the real ones)
in Salem. Bump Batista (20.0 IP, 14 H, 8 R/4 ER, 4 BB, 18 K) to Greenville, get Court off his PM to the GCL. Voila.

Other guys to keep an eye on:
Leandro Marin, 20 yo, Greenville #'s: July: 11.1 IP, 8 H, 3 R/1 ER, 6 BB, 14 K, .195 BAA Season: 28.1 IP, 16 H, 10 R/5 ER, 21 BB, 26 K, .168 BAA Obviously needs to cut the walks significantly, but still. Justin Erasmus, 19 yo, GCL: 14 IP, 10 H, 4 R/3 ER, 5 BB, 13 K, .204 BAA He's been very solid out of that bullpen.

Any reason provided for Reddick being pulled?

Maybe something is brewing with Reddick in a deal that is close to being pulled off.

Ouch -- I didn't want to hear that about Reddick. It sure does look fishy at this time of year.
I was at the Salem/Keys game, and will give a detailed report, tomorrow when I have some time. Tired now, and want to catch up on the threads. |
